Policies and Care
Each piece of jewelry in my collection is designed and handcrafted in my Northern California studio. I approach my work as both an artist and a craftsperson, giving careful attention to materials, process, and detail. The following policies are intended to help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for collectors. If you ever have a question, please feel free to reach out — I’m always happy to help.
Handcrafted
All pieces in my shop are designed and handcrafted by me, Michelle Hoting.
I work primarily with recycled fine and sterling silver, gold, gemstones, hand-cut stones, and natural rocks collected from riverbeds and beaches. Because each piece is made by hand, subtle variations are part of the character and individuality of the work.
Your time and attention to my shop mean a great deal to me, and your support is sincerely appreciated. If you have any questions about a piece, please feel free to contact me.
Exchanges
Non-personalized items may be exchanged within 10 days of delivery, provided they are returned in unused, original condition.
Please contact me prior to returning an item and provide tracking information once it has been shipped. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
If you have any concerns about your order, please reach out — I will always do my best to help.
Returns – Personalized & Custom Work
Because personalized items (such as hand-engraved or inscribed pieces) and custom commissions are created specifically for the collector, they cannot be returned or exchanged.
However, if there is an issue with your order, please contact me so we can work toward a solution.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel an order, please contact me within 24 hours of purchase.
Because work often begins soon after an order is placed—particularly with custom pieces—cancellations may not be possible once production has started.
Shipping
Orders ship from Northern California.
Tracking is provided for all domestic shipments. International tracking is included when available through the selected shipping carrier.
Shipping times may vary depending on the destination and carrier.
Items Damaged During Shipping
If your item arrives damaged, please contact me within 5 business days of the delivery date.
Please include:
- A photo of the damaged item
- A photo of the outer shipping packaging
This information helps me resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Packing Slips
Many orders are sent as gifts directly to the recipient, so packing slips or receipts are not included in packages.
If you would like a copy of your receipt, it can be printed from your order confirmation email.
International Orders
International buyers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or fees required by their country.
These charges are determined by your local customs authority and cannot be collected in advance. Please review your country’s import policies before placing an order.
Jewelry Care
To preserve the beauty of your jewelry:
- Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, perfumes, lotions, and chlorinated water.
- Remove jewelry before swimming, bathing, or engaging in strenuous activities.
- Store pieces in a dry place when not being worn, preferably in a jewelry box or soft pouch.
- Silver may naturally develop a patina over time; gentle polishing with a soft cloth will restore brightness if desired.
With proper care, your jewelry can be enjoyed for many years to come.
